We strongly believe that generating business in the local community helps us form strong relationships with other local businesses. Nothing like healthy competition to keep you ahead of your craft too!
We were delighted to take on this bespoke project of building a luxury treehouse-style holiday cabin in North Uist, deep in one of only two forests on the island.
Some specifics on the detail: We were tasked with fitting/making a bathroom to be rustic but very functional whilst still easy to clean and maintain given it’s used as a holiday let. Adding a lovely iron bath, we removed the ornate feet, instead making a base out of antique Iroko timbers. In the workshop we handmade a basic vanity unit from greenheart and oak. The results are stunning!
Given the terrain, and having to set the legs of the cabin in a knee-high deep bog on a slope of 1 in 1.. this was extremely challenging, but certainly very rewarding.
We love tackling projects a little off the ordinary here at BNR. This locale has the best view we’ve ever seen from a window – prime viewing for the white tailed eagle, owl, cuckoo and deer. The Outer Hebrides has a special place in our heart.
This lovely home didn’t have the largest of kitchens, yet this is a prime example of why you shouldn’t let size restrict your imagination of what your dream kitchen can be.
We removed the wall between the kitchen and living/dining room area to create an open plan L-shaped area. This design really lends itself to entertaining! There was a steel beam installed in place of the removed wall, and supported at one end with a solid kiln-dried oak beam. Our lovely client designed most of this space themselves and we were delighted to turn this into a reality for them.
We recently returned for some unrelated business, and even 3 years on, this kitchen is still staggeringly beautiful.
The final product of a very lovely (and large!) loft conversion in central Fife. The customer has gained 2 large double bedrooms, a functional office with internal glazed partitioning and a quaint little seating area. Our client is also a very talented blacksmith – check out his stunning balustrade and rails.
A completed extension for a lovely family, consisting of a large breakfasting kitchen, a small television/lounge area and the all-important kiddies play room! We converted their existing lounge into a grand master bedroom and formed a bathroom down stairs in the old kitchen area making a huge difference to the living space available on the ground floor.
A full office build-out for a returning client. Starting out with little more than a concrete and metal shell, we designed with our client, alongside our preferred Architects, ensuring consistent communication with their Marketing, IT and Branding departments, to ensure all decorative finishings align with their branding and ethos, as well as ensuring the technical elements of the design make things slick, straight forward and secure (think Door Entry Systems, Security Cameras, WiFi connections, Server Cabinets etc). A thoroughly enjoyable project working with our in-house team and preferred suppliers to deliver a finalised article to the highest standard.. and most importantly on time and within budget.
Why work with BNR Developments?
Absolutely brilliant workmanship! So so pleased with service from beginning to end, their attention to detail was outstanding, as well as excellent communication. I would highly recommend.
We appointed BNR to carry out our double-storey extension based on a recommendation from our friend who had a similar project completed to a high standard from them the year before. We were so nervous for the build to begin, but the communication and reassurance from the off ensured we felt comfortable and updated throughout the works. There is something so exciting about watching your house transform, and all the tradesmen working on our project made us feel comfortable and like we were in safe hands. The finished result was everything we had dreamed of, and our home has truly been upgraded both in space and quality. Thanks again to the team at BNR.
Having been recommended to meet with 3 builders after receiving our drawings from the Architect, BNR Developments really stood out for a few reasons – professionalism, pride and reputation. Liam was happy to meet with us a few times to discuss our (ever-changing!) ideas prior to providing a quotation for the works – you can tell he is passionate about delivering your end vision, but also offered advice on how to enhance or add value to the project. Although a lot of upheaval having work carried out in and outside of our home, the boys were very clean and tidy throughout, we received updates frequently where required, and I feel confident to recommend them to anyone considering extension or renovation works.
Great bunch in the BNR Developments team – provided a detailed breakdown of costs, started when they said they would and within their proposed timescales. All works completed to a high standard, our multiple extra requests was no hassle, and I even joined them a few times on their coffee breaks! Thanks again boys.
